Introducing our New Artist on display, Isabelle Likaris, whose vibrant colors bring great new energy to the walls of ION Studio.
In this new series Isabelle is exploring nature further, at a macro level. Focusing on the movement and color that repeats itself at multiple levels.
Isabelle Likaris
Artist who's primary medium is oil paint on wood. Saturated colors dominate her palette. A penchant for beautiful yet thoughtful images. Inspired by the beauty of nature and the extravagant nature of man.
Born in Bagneres de Bigorre in the French Pyrenees, Isabelle artistic inspiration comes from her eclectic life of travel. Dragged to museums, churches, expos, and flea markets and through the streets of Europe since before she could walk, she was taught to experience different cultures by observing their food and traditions.
She began drawing and painting at an early age, and eventually moved to Paris in 1994, where she started her formal art education, followed by a year at the Beaux Art de Nantes in 1996. In 1997, she returned to the U.S. to continue her education at Parsons School of Design in New York, and graduated in 2001. During her education, she was invited to study engraving at the Beaux Art de Paris, and returned to France for the summer in 1999.
She has participated in Take Home a Nude in NYC, and several group shows throughout the US. Isabelle had her first solo show in Chelsea, New York last April.
Many of Isabelle’s works have been acquired for private collections in New York, Paris, Newport, and Houston.
